A week at home
A Week at Home
Due to the dramatic unrest in the Middle East, our flight to Beirut for our mission in Lebanon had to be canceled. That meant unexpected days in Marseille. When you travel as much as we do, that's something special. But everything began with a large forest fire. The clouds moved directly toward our house, and ash "rained" from the sky. Now I sit on our balcony and look at the desolation of the hill that, just a few days ago, was a green oasis in the north of Marseille.
We were able to use this week for a mix of practical work on the house and catching up on delayed administrative tasks. But also for family time. Twice, I went with Noah, one of our grandsons, to the basketball court. That’s when you realize you’re getting older. :)
Today, the final preparations for the coming three weeks begin. In the evening, we’re flying to Brussels for DCPI EuroMed strategic meetings. I love these times when we work on strategy and improvement. We want to train thousands of leaders so we can see new churches everywhere in Europe and the Mediterranean region.
After that, we’re off to the Philippines for two weeks. There, we will be speakers at the DCPI WorldZone Conference for Southeast Asia and the Pacific. This will be a completely new experience that we’re really looking forward to. Leaders from many countries will be participating: from the Philippines, Malaysia, Guam, Bhutan, Laos, Vietnam, Australia, New Zealand, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Cambodia, Bangladesh, Nepal, and Myanmar. It's going to be exciting, and it's a great honor for us.
Finally, before our vacation, we will speak at a conference in England in early August.
We’ll keep you updated on everything.
Warm greetings from Marseille,
Björn & Brita
